Grocery List of Fun

11 Apr

I guess you know me by now and understand that when my Wife asks me to go shopping…I just can’t say no!  So, she’ll hand me a grocery list and send me on my way, mostly to Loblaws or Metro just around the corner.  Its always quite an experience strolling through a grocery store for some reason, be it for a loaf of bread and bag of milk or a full on list of items.

Take for example this past weekend, when I went to both stores on consecutive days; Saturday night to pick up mini-hamburger buns, sliced olives, swiss cheese and prosciutto…while Sunday was a fruit basket and two jugs of cranberry juice.  You would think that both these trips would be quick and painless but Sundays trip was 40 minutes for 3 items as I met an old High School buddy who was just about to heading down South, just for the heck of it.   He’s single with no kids.  Of course, he rubbed it in and we had a good chuckle but then this got me thinking of the time in my life when, with no kids and single, I could pack the car up and just take off.  Nashville, Green Bay, Chicago, Florida, Boston…you name it, we would drive there and always have a great time.

One of my best friends, and my Best Man at my wedding, is Brad.  He and I have been on dozens of road trips with the only purpose to party and have a good time.  If only I could share some of the stories, but as the slogan for The Bar in Green Bay says “If you can’t remember it, it never really happened!”  Haha.

Nowadays, road trips are filled with my Family and hotels rather than campsites and back seats, but they’re just as fun…if not more!  When we go on a trip with my In-Laws we all have a great time!  Can’t wait for our trip to Lake George this summer.

The Monopoloff

Yes…The Monopoloff is just around the corner.  We are now starting to get people registered and some more publicity around town.  It looks like the next couple of weeks will be busy for this event as I have to prepare Registration Lists, Rules, Score Sheets and a list of Silent Auction items.  I’m telling you, The Monopoloff will put the cool back into the game of Monopoly!

Capital Homes Realty

Busy, busy, busy.  That’s the best way to describe Capital Homes as of late and I’m loving it!  Both Allyson and myself are busy with clients, new listings and promoting the Brokerage.  We’ve just signed up for 3 months of radio commercials on the Team 1200 and I can’t wait to get back in the studio and record again.  Last year I wrote and recorded a dozen commercials that were played throughout the Ottawa Senators games.  The exposure was great and the chance to be creativeis a fun and welcomed challenge.  I’ll post up a link when we record them shortly.

The Week Ahead…

With 2 new listings, an inspection and lots of work on our marketing this week will be awesome!  Hear all about it next week and thanks for reading this weeks Blog.
